Non-radioactive pancreatic function test for dogs

Weight loss — Digestive problems in dogs! Is the exocrine pancreas involved?

In case of weight loss and digestive problems, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency must be ruled out.

This potential cause of malabsorption is often included too late in the diagnosis. If, on the other hand, an early diagnosis is made, the dog can be successfully treated by administering pancreatic enzymes.

With the highly sensitive ScheBo® • Elastase 1 — canine ELISA test for the determination of canine fecal elastase 1, a non-radioactive test is available which allows early and reliable diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency even under substitution therapy and which makes it possible to differentiate pancreatic insufficiency from intestinal and hepatobiliary diseases of the small intestine.

Benefits of ScheBo® • Elastase 1 - canine ELISA

  • Diagnosis/exclusion of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency caused by pancreatic atrophy, pancreatic tumors, chronic pancreatitis, spasms, parasites, stones
  • Substitution therapy has no effect on test results
  • Fasting, as before the TLI determination, is not necessary
  • Blood sampling is also not necessary
  • Non-radioactive test
  • E1 is absolutely pancreas-specific

When should pancreatic elastase 1 be determined in dogs:
